Environmental Health Specialists:
We are excited to offer for the FIRST TIME in Indiana this course developed by the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC). The AVPHI Course, developed by CMAHC, provides public health inspectors with a comprehensive, in-person training experience based on the CDC Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC)—the national standard for public health and safety for swimming pools. This instructor-led course ensures you have the expertise to assess aquatic venues accurately, identify risks, and uphold the highest health and safety standards. More information on the course is available on the CMAHC website. There is a proficiency exam at the end of the course. Certification upon successful completion of the course and exam is valid for 5 years.
This course is jointly sponsored by the Indiana Environmental Health Association and by the Indiana Department of Health’s (IDOH’s) Environmental Health Association. It is offered essentially at cost ($100) and seats are limited. For these reasons, this training is limited to local and state health officials. The course will be co-taught once again by Steve Yeary, REHS of IDOH and Jason Ravenscroft, MHP, REHS of the Marion County Health Department.
This course will be most beneficial for public health professionals who have already taken the Certified Pool Operator course and have experience inspecting public and semi-public pools and spas.
Registration must be made online, regardless of payment method.
